Company Girl Coffee ~ May 22, 2009

Welcome to my place for coffee! Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Over at Home Sanctuary this week, we were challenged to do something "half-way". Well, for me, that's GREAT...because...sometimes I simply don't do a job because I know I don't have the time, energy, or money to do it the "right" way. Our 007master bedroom desperately needed some time spent in it. Now, let me preface this with a couple of things. 1) I struggle to keep a clean bedroom. 2) Hubby and I definitely have 'his' and 'hers' sides of the room and we have each agreed to be responsible for our own sides. That said, my side is the right side...and here are the before and 008after pix. It still needs more work, which is a goal of mine for the long weekend. I have new art for over the bed. I need to find something decorative to put at the end of the bed so we stop using it as a place to pile clothes, shoes, etc. BUT...it's half-way done...and felt great to have permission to only do that much.

Yesterday we were challenged to wipe out kitchen drawers...empty out the crumbs (where DO they come from?) that migrate to our silverware organizers. I did all 9 drawers in my kitchen. I now present my 'best' 3 drawers:

An old hymn has been playing over and over through my head this week:

I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.

For me it was in the garden
He prayed: “Not My will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat drops of blood for mine.

In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To comfort Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.

He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.

O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!

I am so grateful for our God's overwhelming love and grace. May I always keep this at the forefront of my mind.

Have a wonderful weekend. If you know a soldier, please thank them for their sacrifice and service.

Praying today for: G (swine flu); family of C; N (dizziness); G&B (to know the Lord).

Thanks for sharing the pics. We ended up at the doctor's yesterday, so I was worn and didn't do the drawers, which I had been planning on cleaning for awhile now...isn't it always like that? Anyhow, I wish I can see the photos better, but I'll have to be patient and wait for our new laptop to arrive.

And thanks for sharing the hymn with us too.

Great job on your room. I do so many things halfway, it hardly seemed fair to take the points on it. ;)

I also have a problem keeping my bedroom clean....it always seems to be the last room I get to and so quite often it just doesn't get done.

And can you share your strawberry smoothie recipe? I'm looking for some good ones.

Great half way job! :) Loved that one. I do half way very well. I'm late getting around so I saw your post from yesterday, Saturday. I am so sorry for that family and sorry for your daughters loss in a friend. Such a sad thing. Keep singing that hymn girl!
