Thanks for stopping by! Today we're having hot tea. The Christmas dishes are already packed away, so you'll have to make due with my regular mugs.
Although I shared it on my Christmas pictures blog, I will share the story behind my favorite Christmas picture:
Our home is situated so that the bedrooms are all down one hall. Our Christmas morning 'rule' is that the kids can't go into the living room until we're all up and going together. Although our oldest is now 20 and living on her own, she came over and spent Christmas Eve with us and dutifully lined up in the hall with her sisters. I love that at 20, 17, 14, and 14, our kids are still excited to see what "Santa" brought.
Happy New Year!

I love the patient anticipation of the huddled girls! So cute! We've enjoyed Christmas mornings later and later as our kids have gotten older....they like to sleep in, even when Santa's been there :)
I'm watching my daughter crochet a hat and thinking of you.....it LOOKS fairly easy but I fear I would end up with half-finished projects all over the house if I started learning.
Re: your Macy's rant: oh that would make my blood boil. It sounds like a scam!!
Thanks for the tea...perfect for my "condition!"
I can't wait until my son is old enough to come get us in the morning to see what Santa brought. I imagine that will be next year. We have that rule at our house with Olivia, but this year she was with her mom til Christmas morning, so she was already up and dressed when she got home. Still fun, though!
I hope that my kids want to keep our traditions this much when they get older. How fun! Thanks for the tea.
How sweet! I still called my big brother (who's 40) to tell him Santa came!
Happy New Year Cheryl! What a sweet tradition, and special picture. : )
Neil Diamond huh? I've always wanted to go to one of his concerts. : )
Thanks for stopping by.

What a great picture. That one is one page, scrapbook worthy. We put the kid's stockings in their rooms, in the hope that they will stay there until we wake up. Yeah, it worked this year:)
I swore off Macy's years ago (it helps that these days one is not located near us.) Everytime I went in the staff were rude, they made you jump through hoops to get a sales price, and their prices were crazy.
And on that note,
Happy New Year!
Awww, so sweet to have those gals all lined up! That is an achievement Cheryl! Great holiday moment :)
Thanks for sharing your joy with us!
That's fantastic!! That was our rule too...and then my little sister would wake us all up to get down there because she wanted to know what was wrapped in all the pretty paper. =p If half of us sibs didn't have our own families already, we'd probably still be doing that. Sounds like you guys had a great Christmas. Happy new year!
Aww that is so sweet! 4 girls!! What a blessing! Thanks for the tea; I enjoyed the visit. :)
As my children have gotten older they still grin when they see certain things being done just as they've always been done for the last 35 years! Kindof neat.
What a great photo. It just goes to prove that the traditions around a holiday mean as much as the gifts received. I hope my kids will cherish our traditions as well.
