Shame on you, California.

Today saddens me.  We have lived in California for 21 years and the moral compass continues on a downward spiral.  A friend said to me today, "Most people recognize this lifestyle as being wrong" and I had to cut her off and disagree.  I think that many people think today is historic and exciting.

Not me.  I am sad and resting in the peace of the Lord.  I am ready for Him to return.

Political Musings

A quick blurb caught on TV today by Whoopi Goldberg as she discussed Hillary Clinton's vagueness on what her plans are now:  "...and it pissed me off."  That was heard seconds before clicking the TV off.  (Now, as a PSA, I was going to find the clip of her saying this, but if you Google "Whoopi Goldberg, pissed me off," 12,200 results come up and, frankly, I'm too busy to sift through them today.)

Do we as a nation take political advice from someone who talks like this? (And who, at 52 years of age, really talks like this?  I have friends in their 50's and THEY don't talk like this.) It sounds like something I would hear at a high school football game. Instead, America is eating it up and applauding on national TV. Are you kidding me?

Does Whoopi really have her pissed off finger on the political pulse of this nation? Give me a break. (I felt like John Stossel when I typed that. LOL)

What is it?

(If your first thought was the word "Clarice," you are twisted. You know who you are.)

Do you ever buy something at the grocery store that just seemed like a good idea? A Butterball "turkey roast" caught my eye a few months ago and made its way to my deep freeze. This morning I said to myself: "Self, today is the day to deal with that little turkey roast in the freezer." It seemed so easy. Toss it in a baking stone, throw it in the oven and set the oven to come on at 2:30 (that is the BEST feature of my kitchen!).

Fast forward to 5:21pm. As I tried to hack cut this alleged turkey roast apart, a strange deja vu feeling came across me. I've bought this thing before. Once when Hubby and I were starving college students. For under $5, it seemed like a lot of meat. We didn't like it. Now that we are no longer starving college students, why am I still trying to eat for under $5?

If you're the kind who can't help but look at accidents, here is the accompanying "gravy." Looks inviting, no?

The dogs are going to have a FEAST tomorrow! (No, they won't get it all; just the grisly dark stuff. I will salvage the white meat and make turkey taco soup.)

Meanwhile I think Subway has footlong subs on sale. For under $5. 5:30pm and we're outta here!

How amazing are these words?  When we need help, our GOD rides across the heavens to help us.  His everlasting arms are under us.  There is no other help like this.  And I'm grateful for this promise.
