Company Girl Coffee ~ May 15, 2009

Welcome, welcome!  I'm running late today because I [gasp] slept in! Picture2 Last night at 10pm I took a half dose of a nighttime allergy medicine.  It gave me 10 hours of sleep and today I feel like a new woman.  The down side was that was the last nighttime allergy pill in the house, so I will need to go buy more today.  I am grateful for the change of seasons, but the pollen and allergies are not welcome here!

This has been a great week over at Home Sanctuary!  If you haven't checked out Rachel Anne's site yet, why not today?  Each weekday, we are given a "small thing" to do to transform our homes into sanctuaries.  That should be reward enough, but she assigns point values to each task and has prizes each month!  I have been able to keep up with each task this month.  We're half-way to the end, so here's hoping I stay on track.

My 15 and 17yo daughters both finished track this week, not placing imagehigh enough to move on after the Area meet.  Here is a poor quality video of 17yo pole vaulting (she's the speck that flings herself over the pole on the left side of the screen):

She hopes to vault in college next year, too.  I have tremendous admiration for my daughter who started high school and just thought pole vaulting looked fun.  She's not the team's best vaulter, but she is certainly the one who tries the hardest to improve week after week.  15yo ran the 3200 meter (2 miles) with a respectable time of 12:32 - not her PR, but not a bad time to end the season on.  This weekend is prom and these same 15 and 17yo girls will be going.  The other 15yo is going to a friend's for a sleepover.

Have a blessed weekend!

Cheryl

Praying today for:  Family of C. (committed suicide last night); N. (recovering from surgery).

Hi Cheryl! Sounds like you are having a great Small Things month! I have been keeping track again this month but didn't have much to consolidate so there were minimal points that day. :)

You're not late...I haven't even posted yet. I want to share about our back yard project, but I need to transfer the pictures from my camera.

Thanks for the extra cup of coffee...I need it this morning! Now I better get moving. There's lots of work to be done! :)

Thanks for stopping by...your kids sound great. I loved mine as teenagers; so many people complain about teens but I really did enjoy that phase. Now that they are young adults, I find I like that even more; you have some wonderful years ahead.

I ran track in high school...I was horrible, haha. I only did it for one year. That's very admirable that your daughter works so hard to improve!!

I hope you have a great weekend!

I always want to comment on every post I've missed previously!! Love the "Drug" post!! Makes me think I ought to drag my son to more things. Thanks.

And wow! on the the Small Things this month. See, I picture you as not really needing the small things...so on top of things! Some days, the small things are the only things I get done...and even then I miss many of my own :(

I can't imagine pole vaulting! Your girls are really admirable for doing track and vaulting...such hard sports. I hope they enjoy prom and have a wonderful time. Can't wait to see pics of them in their finery.

Have a great weekend. I ate an orange today and thought of you.

Thanks for coming by to see the baby. =)

Norm was on track back in high school. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I work hard and am dedicated, but I'm not a runner...I do hope to run some kind of race one day though....

Baby is stirring...

Take care.

I have sleep apnoea and have to be careful about any meds that cause drowsiness because they make my symptoms worse. Have to be careful about alcohol before bed too, but that isn't a problem for us.
